Role details:
Summary:
Perform a variety of Design Management consultancy commissions requiring knowledge of established design management and project management procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Manage the actions of the design team / extended project team.
2. Deliver commissions on time and to budget.
3. Maintain and modify design programme delivery; propose approved changes.
4. Chair & report design team progress.
5. Advice the Client on Design and Project management related issues, including Consultant appointments and other scope and contract based matters.
6. Deploy Adept Management’s ADePT technique for design management and control.
7. Analyse performance of design teams and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with the whole project team.
8. Assist Prepare and present commission case studies.
9. Maintain confidentiality for all Adept Management commissions, whether directly or indirectly involved.
10. Document design management problems and resolutions for future reference.
11. Assist the wider Adept Management team as a design management resource.
12. Other duties as assigned
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Provide development and support for Junior Consultants.
2. Manage commission relationships.
3. Report business opportunities to Stream and Account Managers
Candidate requirements:
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
1. Batchelor or Masters Degree in Construction related subjects.
2. Knowledge / experience of design and project management in construction.
3. Ability to process project data and to format and generate reports.
4. Ability to implement and troubleshoot design and project management problems.
5. High degree of interpersonal skills.
6. Achieve institutional membership within three years of joining.
Working Conditions:
1. Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
2. Work requires extensive use of a computer.
3. Role is based in the Midlands area, but Consultants are expected to work in Client offices.
