Our client is one of the UK’s leading support services companies with an enviable portfolio of contracts spanning a multitude of clients in both the public and private sectors.

Following a recent restructure they now wish to appoint a Business Development Director to one of their divisions to lead the development of business and industry contracts.

We are looking for a passionate and creative individual – who has a demonstrable track record in landing major accounts and acting as the lead in the sales process.

Purpose of role:

• Provide leadership and direction to the bid & business development team members to ensure that creative and commercial solutions are put into action in order to win contracts
• Fostering long term relationships, negotiating client contracts and increasing new business pipeline
• Providing direction and expertise to the operating area by promoting strategies and service offers to prospective clients
• Acting as the primary representative of the business
• Encourage innovation to develop and grow the business beyond core activities
• Ensure all contract specifications are understood and that service solutions are provided to meet customers and business plan requirements
• Ensure that all cost and financial data is presented for analysis so that risks and margins can be accurately identified
• Provide specific guidance/ support to the bid team, setting and approving authority levels, resolving risks and issues that cannot be resolved by the bid team to ensure the success of the projects

Requirements:

• An experienced Business Development/Sales Director currently holding a similar role with an established and ideally market leading soft service provider
• Experience of co-ordinating resources at a high level
• Good planning and organising skills
• Good communicator and motivator
• Energy, drive and resilience – able to work to and achieve targets
